Those two feet of yours should be protected all the time since it’s the most important component in biking. Unfortunately, there are only few cycling shoes on the market warm enough for winter use. Plus, those shoes cost much. Lastly, it is very important to keep the lower extremities dry. Padding is good for warming up.
